If you’re child is over 7 years old, over 145cms tall and you can say ‘Yes’ to the 3 B’s.

Although legally a child could potentially sit in the front seat of a vehicle at the age of 7, nearly all modern vehicles have warnings that it could be fatal in the event the airbag is activated.

Vehicle airbags are designed to protect a full grown adult in the event of an accident, but to do so they are deployed with incredible force and can fully inflate within 3 milliseconds.  Unfortunately if the occupant is smaller than a full sized adult it could cause serious injury or even a fatality.  For this reason a child should remain in the back seat of a vehicle in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines – usually until the age of 12.
